Sketching in the french alps - July 2018
Jesse Woodward Is a landscape artist working in traditional techniques from Brighton. Having grown up on the fringe of Dartmoor national park, he has used landscape painting as a means to share his love of the outdoors since a young age.
Working predominately in oils and drawing heavily on romanticism, his work takes much inspiration from the likes of Turner and Constable - while assimilating more expressive, contemporary techniques. The majority of his work is done to commission, although he maintains his own personal practice to realise the atmosphere of the locations that mean the most to him.
Alongside his painting, Jesse is a published illustrator, and has a strong interest in concept art for cinema.
